Recognition

The badge system

Four badges recognise different kinds of creative engagement with the Elegor world. Each comes with public criteria and a review process managed by the Elegor Society.

Uses Elegor as setting

Elegor Inspired

Works carrying the Elegor Inspired badge use the Elegor setting as their backdrop or inspiration. Lore alignment is welcomed but not a strict requirement; the badge acknowledges that a work exists in or draws from the Elegor world, rather than applying an editorial standard.

  • The work is set in Elegor, draws directly from the canon, or uses Elegor as its primary creative reference.
  • The creator has attributed the original Elegor canon per the CC BY 4.0 requirements.
  • The work has been submitted and reviewed by the Elegor Society.
Craft and lore-faithfulness

Elegor Hallmarked

The Elegor Hallmarked badge recognises works that demonstrate clear craftsmanship and a genuine engagement with the canon. Reviewers assess both creative quality and lore coherence. Hallmarked works are works the Elegor Society can point to as examples of the world done well.

  • The work meets the Inspired criteria.
  • It demonstrates notable craftsmanship in writing, illustration, design, or another medium.
  • It engages with the canon in good faith and avoids significant lore inconsistencies.
  • It has passed a structured review by the Editorial Council.
Contributes new canonical elements

Elegor Pioneering

Elegor Pioneering is the badge for contributions that expand the canon itself. A Pioneering work introduces new canonical elements (a species variant, a historical figure, a place, an institution, a spell tradition) that are accepted by the Elegor Society and added to the Compendium, attributed to the contributor's Narrator.

  • The work meets the Hallmarked criteria.
  • It proposes new canonical elements that have been reviewed and accepted by the Elegor Society.
  • The contributor has an active Narrator, to whom the new canon is attributed.
  • The new elements are added to the Elegor Compendium as Public Knowledge.
Produced by the Elegor Society

Elegor Official

Elegor Official marks works produced directly by the Elegor Society (the founding creators and their appointed collaborators). Official works are the primary canon: Compendium entries, Chapters, foundational lore documents, and Society publications. This badge is reserved for the Elegor Society and its appointed collaborators.

  • The work is produced by Davide Ravasi, Riccardo Ravasi, or a collaborator formally appointed by the Elegor Society.
  • It has been published through an official Society channel or the Elegor Compendium.

How the review works

Any creator can submit a work for badge review through the Elegor Compendium (from Phase 2 of the public rollout). Submissions are routed to the relevant thematic group of the Editorial Council based on what the work touches: species, history, geography, spellcraft, and so on.

Reviewers assess the submission against the criteria for the requested badge level. For works seeking Pioneering recognition, the review also evaluates whether the proposed canonical elements are internally consistent, free of Hidden Truth material, and ready for publication in the Compendium.

Approved Pioneering contributions are published in the Compendium under the contributor's Narrator, an in-world scholar avatar that every Contributor creates at registration. The work becomes part of the permanent Public Knowledge record, attributed to that voice.
